Yes, it's true we are FINALLY tying the knot! We are getting married in the beautiful town of Telluride, Colorado. It is known for it's dramatic peaks, rolling mountains, winding rivers, and picturesque Victorian town. Telluride was founded in 1878 and was a former silver mining camp. At an elevation of 8,750 feet Telluride sits in a box canyon on the San Miguel River in the western San Juan Mountains.
Telluride is especially known for its ski resorts and slopes in the winter months. In the warmer months, Telluride offers numerous outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and rafting. Telluride is equally known for its many festivals such as MountainFilm Festival, Balloon Festival, and Bluegrass Festival.
Neighbooring Telluride is the town of Mountain Village. It was incorporated in 1995 and offers many hotels, condos and private homes for lodging.
The preferred method of transportation linking Telluride and Mountain Village is the gondola. The two towns are connected by a FREE gondola, the only free transportation system of its kind in North America.
